“I have experienced first-hand the benefits of mindfulness in reducing the mental and physical effects of stress which I experienced in a busy and demanding life. I have witnessed the profound changes which the Mindfulness for Health course can bring to people’s lives and this gives me the passion to want to deliver affordable courses accessible to all. I deliver bespoke training within schools, colleges, universities and community centres. I am also interested in developing mindfulness and compassion-based approaches in nature and I work with Kindlewoods to deliver Woodland wellbeing courses. I like to work with others and love teaching in a group setting. My background is in science research, education and training. I work with evidence-based approaches. I worked for 20 years in schools and in teacher training. I have also worked as a community outreach worker and youth worker.”

I have had a meditation and mindfulness practice since 2007 and I qualified to teach the Breathworks Mindfulness for Health and Mindfulness for Stress courses in 2012.  Breathworks courses and retreats transformed my experience of chronic pain following an accident.  I continue to learn, to be challenged and to deepen my practice alongside my friends and course participants.  I also have a background in ecological research and I am involved in projects that explore how biodiversity supports human wellbeing.  I feel very lucky that I can spend a large part of the year outside and supporting retreats.  I’m particularly interested in further developing the nature-based practice that the Leeds Mindfulness Cooperative offers. “

I have trained in the Mindful Self Compassion programme and have delivered the cooperative’s continuation courses.   I am committed to making mindfulness training accessible for all and I work for the Cooperative on a voluntary basis.  I am also a yoga teacher.  I am interested in bringing my experience of working with Internal Family Systems into my teaching.”

“I completed an 8-week course with Uddyotani about 9 years ago and I have drawn so many benefits personally and professionally from my own ongoing mindfulness practice since then.  I qualified as a mindfulness teacher in 2019 after training with Breathworks. I am also a qualified coach, social worker and also work in the busy and constantly changing public sector. This includes delivering the 8-week mindfulness for stress course in the work context with colleagues. It feels like a special opportunity to now be able to teach and by teaching practice with others. To borrow a quote; ‘I teach what I want to keep learning!’.”
